Deploy your Boty agent to Slack and let it respond to messages in channels and direct messages.

Setup

Navigate to Channels

Go to your agent’s Channels tab in the dashboard.

Click Connect on Slack

Click the Connect button on the Slack card.

Authorize

You’ll be redirected to Slack to authorize the Boty app for your workspace.

Select Workspace

Choose the Slack workspace where you want to deploy the agent.

How It Works

Once connected, your agent will:
  • Respond to @mentions in channels where it’s added
  • Reply to direct messages sent to the bot
  • Maintain conversation context per user/channel

Configuration

After connecting, you can configure:

Adding to Channels

To use the bot in a Slack channel:
  1. Open the channel in Slack
  2. Click the channel name to open settings
  3. Go to IntegrationsAdd apps
  4. Search for “Boty” and add it

@Boty What are your business hours?
The agent will respond based on its knowledge base and configuration.

Permissions

The Slack integration requires these scopes:
  • app_mentions:read - Receive mention events
  • chat:write - Send messages
  • channels:history - Read channel messages
  • im:history - Read direct messages
  • users:read - Get user information

Troubleshooting

  • Ensure the bot is added to the channel
  • Check that the integration is enabled in Boty
  • Verify your workspace has available credits
  • Try disconnecting and reconnecting
  • Ensure you have admin permissions in the Slack workspace
